Tally ho all budding photographers! There’s a chance to win terrific prizes and recognition among some of horseracing’s best known faces at this year’s Andoversford Races on Sunday April 7th.

The racecourse has teamed up with Cheltenham Camera Club to stage an exhibition of the best images to describe the Cotswolds, together with a competition for the best image which will grace the official racecard for the event.

Entrants must be members of any photographic club or society in Gloucestershire, and may submit up to 3 images for selection, with a closing date of Saturday March 23rd, the week after Cheltenham’s best known sporting event – the Festival. Images should capture and celebrate the essence of the Cotswolds; from the scenery, to villages, customs and events. Images must be taken within the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

First prize includes a £100 voucher from London Camera Exchange in the Promenade and lunch for 2 at Hotel du Vin, whilst the runner-up wins a £75 voucher to spend at ladies’ fashion retailer Louella in Winchcombe.

“Andoversford Races is a great Cotswold event, so we’re delighted to draw it to the attention of amateur photographers around the county,” commented Peter McNeile, Chairman of the Race committee. “Horses and equine competition are embedded in the Cotswold culture, but of course, they’re not the only part of our social calendar. I’m looking forward to seeing what other ideas and images are entered that show the diverse nature of the area we’re all so lucky to inhabit.”
